The Barry C5 wheelchair is designed for children with musculoskeletal disorders, including children diagnosed with cerebral palsy (CP). This model combines multiple functions and can be used as an outdoor wheelchair, a home wheelchair for children with CP, as well as a child car seat that meets safety requirements.

Thanks to the quick-release fastening system, the seat can be transformed within one minute, without the use of any additional tools, into a portable carrying device or a full-fledged car seat. The seat is attached to the frame using a quick-release pin located at the lower part and a locking screw in the backrest area, ensuring secure fixation and ease of use.

The wheelchair consists of two main parts: a child car seat and a frame. The frame has a foldable design, which makes transportation and storage convenient.

The C5 is equipped with a gas-spring system for adjusting the tilt angle of the seat and backrest, allowing the selection of an optimal position for the child and increasing comfort during prolonged use.

The seat is a child safety car seat made of durable, lightweight, non-toxic, and hypoallergenic plastic. The surface is covered with high-quality breathable fabric. The seat is equipped with a safety belt with soft foam pads in the shoulder and abdominal areas, as well as a height-adjustable headrest with a soft removable cover.

The wheelchair is equipped with a body positioning system that ensures correct posture and a high level of safety. When necessary, the covers can be easily removed and are suitable for washing. A removable rear pocket is provided for storing personal items. An optional feeding tray can be installed.

The footrest is height-adjustable and can be folded upward, making it easier to seat and remove the child from the wheelchair.

The C5 is equipped with wear-resistant wheels:

• front wheels with a diameter of 6 inches (150 mm) solid rubber, maintenance-free, no inflation required;

• rear wheels with a diameter of 12 inches (300 mm) with polyurethane tires and durable hubs.

The rear wheels are equipped with a foot-operated parking brake, which is activated by pressing the pedal and securely locks the wheelchair, preventing unintended movement. This solution allows the brake to be operated without releasing the wheelchair handle, which is especially important when used on inclined surfaces.

For additional safety, the wheelchair is equipped with an adjustable anti-tip protection mechanism, as well as a front wheel lifting mechanism that facilitates overcoming curbs and other obstacles.
