The hemostatic clamp is used in medicine for grasping and clamping tissues and organs in a wound in order to temporarily stop bleeding, block the lumen of hollow organs, to stop the flow of liquid contents into them, crush the walls, capture and strengthen surgical linen, drainage tubes, and so on.
Billroth clamp No. 1 (160 mm, straight) has notches on the jaws that capture vessels (or tissues) delicately, but fragile, so as not to injure tissues.
